TRUMP AND EPSTEIN the lies never stop
Both Trump Presidencies and the space in between have been riddled with scandals, from the Russian collusion hoax to the civil case brought by Letitia James to the delusional or simply dishonest pseudonymous Katie Johnson. Every one of these scandals has been manufactured. Donald Trump has been investigated time and time again yet nothing has stuck, but rather than making him the cleanest man in America, his detractors insist he and his loyal supporters have managed to cover everything up.
The latest nonsense is a rehash of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, a classic case of guilt by association. The two men were once buddies, so clearly they must have abused underage girls together, right?
Trump insists that he kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago; he has given different reasons for this, but he is far from the only person to distance himself from him. One of the few people who didn’t was Noam Chomsky who said Epstein having served prison time meant he now had a clean slate. With the wisdom of hindsight, we know that Epstein hardly served any time at all, and was basically only detained overnight. His real punishment was that he was required to register as a sex offender. We can argue about the morality of the sex offender registry which can stigmatise especially a young person for life – women as well as men, but what Chomsky said is perfectly reasonable.
Clearly, one would not want Epstein or anyone like him to run a kindergarten class, but there are countless people of both sexes walking around who have far, far worse convictions. These people need to be allowed to get on with their lives as best they can.
All that is totally irrelevant as far as Donald Trump goes because there is no credible evidence that he and Epstein ever abused underage girls or grown women together. Nor is there any credible evidence that anyone else did bar Ghislaine Maxwell, and that abuse was trivial as far as sexual abuse goes.
The two victims were Maria Farmer and her sister Annie; Annie was underage at the time. These indecent assaults took place on separate occasions in 1996, long before Epstein was exposed. They were reported at the time, so are credible, even though they were ignored at the time. Again, this has nothing to do with Donald Trump.
The obvious question is why is Trump’s alleged involvement with Epstein’s crimes being raised now? The even more obvious answer is that this is simply a reprise of the Russian collusion hoax and all the other mud that has been thrown at the President.
As many critics have pointed out, the Democrats had four years to raise this but didn’t. Had there been a nanogramme of truth in any of these absurd claims, they would have been exploited mercilessly.
The list of people pushing this nonsense is a mile long, but it includes THE TIMES newspaper of London on its YouTube channel, an outfit that should surely know better. Former prosecutor Glenn Kirschner has been railing at Trump for years, but now he says, the walls are closing in on the President. They may be closing in, but not on him, because the latest Democrat hoax has backfired with a vengeance. They released an e-mail from Epstein that placed Trump at Epstein’s Palm Beach residence with one of the underage victims. The name of this victim was redacted, but when the Republicans unmasked it, it was...Virginia Roberts!
The punchline is that the now deceased Virginia Roberts Giuffre never implicated Trump in any way, so as far as anything this serial liar says can be believed, that is yet more exculpatory evidence.
There was though, clear evidence that a particularly noisy Democrat was in touch with Epstein much later than that. That Democrat is Stacey Plaskett who was apparently texting with him during an actual Congressional hearing. The plot thickens!
While the latest non-revelations are unlikely to damage Trump’s Presidency, they have succeeded in alienating one of his staunchest supporters. Marjorie Taylor Greene is cut from the same cloth as Trump, having come from the business world. Unlike Glenn Kirschner, she is not familiar with the legal intricacies of releasing legal documents in either civil or criminal cases. Judges often prohibit their release to protect the innocent; they may also order redactions.
Sadly, Greene has also fallen for the sex trafficking narrative of prostitution, and we know that the adult so-called survivors of Jeffrey Epstein include prostitutes; two of the openly admitted prostitutes were Virginia Giuffre and Sarah Ransome. Both women were and are liars, the former a serial liar of the first order.
While Donald Trump’s bark has always been worse than his bite, his criticism of Marjorie Taylor Greene is extremely unfair, but hopefully this is a rift that will heal in time. It will be recalled that it was only a few months ago that the same shabby tactics were used to drive a wedge between Trump and Elon Musk.
It remains to be seen though if any leading Democrat or media outlet will be held to account for their outrageous lies, or if Stacey Plaskett will be asked to explain why she was apparently taking instructions from a registered sex offender at the same time she was attempting to take down the President.
