The Work Of Karlyn Borysenko
In the small hours of Sunday morning, I joined the SOCIALISM SATURDAY livestream on the Karlyn Borysenko YouTube channel. This particular livestream lasted over four and a half hours. I stayed for a tiny fraction of that time during which I posed a question – if under socialism/communism everyone gets free healthcare, free accommodation, free this, free that...who pays for free?
Her caustic response was that this was a “conservative talking point” with an expletive after the first word because apparently I don’t understand that there will be no money in the socialist utopia.
Nice try, Karlyn, but I asked who pays, not who puts up the money. People can pay for goods and services in all manner of ways; they can pay in cash, with credit, with chattels, with time, even with blood.
Karlyn followed up with “they” control the food supply, so if you don’t work, you don’t eat. Actually, it’s even worse than that, as Trotsky himself wrote: “In a country where the sole employer is the state, this means death by slow starvation. The old principle: who does not work shall not eat, has been replaced with a new one: who does not obey shall not eat.”
He was speaking of the Soviet Union under Stalin, and he was right, of course, in a totalitarian state, those who do not obey do not eat, now imagine extending that to the entire world as Trotsky wanted.
Actually, Stalin wasn’t quite that bad, but that was little comfort to the people who suffered and perished under his rule. Stalin succeeded because he was practical – he realised that socialism in one country was a real possibility. Trotsky on the other hand was a certifiable lunatic who wanted world revolution (and world enslavement). The latter is now a real possibility thanks to exponential advances in technology and the burgeoning unelected bureaucracy of the United Nations and many others – unelected by the common people that is. Be that as it may, let us return to Karlyn Borysenko.
It would be fair to say the lady is extremely immodest but she does have a lot to be immodest about; she has done and continues to do sterling work exposing the fantasy world of extreme socialists. Some of their toxic screeds are so insane that it beggars belief they have wide acceptance even being published in academic journals. In another of her videos she exposes the insanity of Mary Bowman, an academic who claims the “gender binary” is an invention of white supremacy.
So the Egyptians, the Romans, the Shang Dynasty were all either non-binary or proponents of white supremacy?
There is a lot more where this crazy stuff comes from, and some of it is even crazier.
If Karlyn has done great work, there is still room for debating her conclusions, to begin with these extreme socialists do not agree on absolutely everything. They are though a danger to freedom in the United States, the UK and elsewhere, so exposing their insane beliefs and countering their influence is vitally important.
One of their more vacuous claims is that capitalism is destroying the planet. No, human beings are destroying the planet, because capitalism has led to a current world population of over 8 billion. A centrally planned world economy would not be able to sustain a fraction of that number, which is quite possibly what some of these fanatics want.
