The Far Left View Of Two-Tier Policing
The treatment of those protesting illegal migration to the UK contrasted with the treatment of left wing activists who support this invasion has led to claims of two-tier policing, and the disparate sentences handed down by the courts to claims of two-tier justice.
The extreme left have their own idea of two-tier policing, apparently it does exist but is directed at blacks. In an article published on August 27 last year, Socialist Worker compared the Notting Hill Carnival with the annual Glastonbury festival claiming:
“The idea that the carnival presents any greater threat to safety than other mass events is a racist attack. Glastonbury music festival has similar crime rates.”
Seriously? Glastonbury is an all-ticket event while anyone may attend the Notting Hill Carnival, so one would naturally expect there to be far fewer crimes committed there, but leaving that aside, on the first two days of the five day festival, 14 people were arrested. There was a total of 38 suspected crimes, six of them drug offences, three of them frauds.
The first Glastonbury Festival was held in 1970. Over the years, a number of deaths have been recorded, but in an event that caters for around 200,000 people over several days, that is hardly surprising. However, no one ever appears to have been murdered at Glastonbury, although in August 2022, a woman was shot dead in the North of England after an argument that started there. Her boyfriend was the intended target. By contrast, two people were murdered at the Notting Hill Carnival in 2000, one in 2022 and one last year. Three murders in a quarter of a century is still three murders too many but the big difference is that some people go to the Carnival explicitly to cause trouble. This year there were 423 arrests (not the final figure) and only two people were stabbed, although apparently not seriously.
This is the extreme left all over, everything is about race, and when something bad happens, whites are always to blame.
A suspect is led away by police at the Notting Hill Carnival this year.
