Prince Harry’s “Other Woman” Problem
Prince Harry’s wife has been and remains the subject of ridicule, contempt and worse, the woman they love to hate. Much of this ridicule is warranted, and her lies about especially her short time within the British Royal Family have been thoroughly documented. Now though, another woman has appeared who has been throwing shade on his activities, one with whom he has a purely professional relationship.
As most readers will know, Harry lost his mother in tragic circumstances when he was not quite 13 years old. Although she was only 36, Diana left an enormous legacy, one which both her sons have kept alive. In 2006, Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho founded a charity in her name. Sentebale was to be dedicated to helping the young of Lesotho and Botswana, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS. At some point, “climate resilience” was added to its programme, something we need not take seriously.
A scandal has now erupted within that charity, a scandal involving one woman who has taken to the media where she has been quoted uncritically for the most part, although when she sat down with Trevor Phillips for Sky News (UK), she was asked real questions.
Sophie Chandauka was first appointed to the Board of Sentebale in 2008. On July 23, 2023, she was appointed Chairman. Recently, the other Trustees asked her to resign her post. When Madam Chairman refused, the rest of the Board resigned in protest, which led to both its Patron Princes resigning.
The reason for Miss Chandauka’s dispute with the Board is not entirely clear, although the use of funds appears to have had more than a little to do with it. Such disputes within charities and private companies are not uncommon. Usually, when the chairman or whoever is at the top loses the confidence of the board, he will resign. Not so here!
If the reason for her dispute with the Board isn’t entirely clear to the rest of the world, it is to her. She is a victim of “bullying, harassment, misogyny and misogynoir”. If you are not familiar with that last word, it was coined by a black feminist in the United States (where else?) to explain why obnoxious black women are not treated with the reverance they believe they deserve.
Miss Chandauka certainly doesn’t appear to be as obnoxious as Harry’s wife, but the full facts are not in yet. So who is she?
Sophie Tendai Chandauka was born in Rhodesia two years before it became the Marxist dictatorship known now as Zimbabwe. In spite of this, she came from a privileged background and has certainly lived a privileged life being awarded scholarships to study in both England and the United States. In September 2005, she qualified as a corporate lawyer.
Regarding her claims of bullying etc, these stack up only if one uses an elastic definition, which clearly she does. Someone holding a contrary opinion does not constitute bullying or harassment anymore than disagreeing with a woman constitutes misogyny. What is very likely the truth of the affair can be found in this article, namely that while she may be an excellent lawyer, she was a very poor charity chief.
It could be that everyone else is in the wrong while she is the only one telling the unvarnished truth, but the consensus from the comment section is that the Board was right to ask her to step down. Notice in particular the comment about her lavish spending.
Expect more venom from her in due course, and attempts to explain away her failure by passing the buck to Prince Harry and others.
