Mr Patel Goes To Washington

The Democrats opposed all the new Trump cabinet nominees vociferously. They were successful in opposing Matt Gaetz for position of Attorney General only for Pam Bondi to replace him. Having served two terms as Attorney General of Florida and being a long term Trump loyalist, she got straight to work on day one.

But of all the candidates for high office, none was opposed more vociferously than Kash Patel, and now that he has been confirmed as the next Director of the FBI, we can expect to see him and Bondi drain The Swamp between them.

Patel is the son of Indian immigrants, or more accurately Ugandan Asians. In 1972, President Idi Amin expelled the country’s entire Asian population. Many of them were admitted to the UK but Patel’s parents moved to India then to Canada then to New York where he was born in February 1980. With that family history, he understands something about the abuse of state power which was probably what led him to become a public defender after leaving law school.

He is feared because of his work with Devin Nunes which led to the trashing of the absurd claim that Donald Trump was in the pockets of the Kremlin if not Vladimir Putin himself. This lie and the spurious document that appeared to confirm it was paid for by Hillary Clinton. Initially, the Clinton campaign had boosted Trump in the Republican race hoping he would prove the weakest candidate, but he Trump slaughtered sixteen opponents and walked away with the nomination, Clinton and her co-conspirators realised drastic measures were needed.

The resulting conspiracy involved senior figures in the FBI all the way up to then Director James Comey and undoubtedly other equally odious individuals from other agencies. One of these was CIA Director John Brennan, who although not a party to the Steele Dossier worked out what was going on as early as September 2016, memorialising it in a memo.

In public, leading Democrats, most notably the odious Adam Schiff, parroted what Trump called the “Russia, Russia, Russia” line, but when Patel and Nunes brought them in and put them under oath – over sixty of them - they had nothing to say.

There are many things to be done but one of his first priorities is to spread the FBI around the country. The Bureau has offices not only all over the United States but in many locations around the world. Its hub though is the Washington office, and that is clearly where most of the endemic corruption is.

Parallel with that and with organising its priorities, there is the little question of payback. Detractors call this revenge, but a more fitting word is accountability. Throughout Trump’s first term, Deep State actors did everything in their power to undermine it. After he was cheated out of his second term, the FBI and other agencies under Biden (or whoever was really running them) ramped up their war against not only Trump, his family and closest supporters but on Trump supporters in general and on countless ordinary Americans.

The list of “enemies” spied on and persecuted by the FBI beggars belief. It included anti-abortion activists, parents who protested against the indoctrination of their young ones, and even Catholics who celebrated Latin mass.

Trump supporters who went to the capital on January 6, 2021 were subjected to horrendous persecution over the faux insurrection, including many people who hadn’t gone near the building. There were though exceptions, in particular Ray Epps and the mysterious character who actually planted pipe bombs outside the DNC and RNC buildings. Former Secret Service agent turned radio host Dan Bongino has speculated intelligently that this was the Deep State’s back up plan to their rioting.

Realising there could be trouble, Trump had offered Nancy Pelosi – then Speaker – up to ten thousand troops to police the crowds. Pelosi had turned this offer down, and there is no doubt whatsoever that agents provocateurs spurred on the crowds. It has now been admitted that a number of FBI undercover agents were present among those who entered the building.

So what can we expect from a Patel directorship? A total house cleaning and prosecutions of the main conspirators, hopefully all the way up to Hillary Clinton. Whether or not that happens, the parallel efforts of Elon Musk and the DOGE team will ensure that the funding of subversive activities will be drastically curtailed and the rule of law largely restored over the next four years.
