Kash Patel Strikes Again
Earlier this month, it was reported here that FBI Director Kash Patel had severed all connection with the misnamed Anti-Defamation League. Now, it can be reported that he has also severed connection with the bizarrely named Southern Poverty Law Centre.
The Times Of India reported fairly objectively on this new move while predictably MSNBC reported precisely as informed observers would expect.
“As his FBI tenure goes from bad to worse, Kash Patel abandons the pretence of seriousness” – bad to worse for Antifa, criminal gangs and people traffickers maybe, but not for the average American citizen.
Patel is called an “unqualified former podcast personality and conspiracy theorist”.
Actually, the guy has a lot of personality, and how is he unqualified? He was both a public defender and a federal prosecutor. He was also instrumental in exposing the Russiagate conspiracy against Donald Trump – which was not a conspiracy theory but a conspiracy fact.
So why has Patel made this move? The real question is how did the FBI ever entertain the Southern Poverty Law Center in the first place? The SPLC was founded in 1971 and appears initially to have done some good work, although even that is questionable. Its principal function at least from the turn of the Millennium appears to have been to smear anyone to the right of Karl Marx as some kind of bigot.
Instrumental in this smearing is its infamous “hate map”, one version of which, from no later than 2017, can be seen below. Apparently there are no so-called hate groups in either Alaska or Hawaii, but there are plenty of others dotted around the other 48 states.
So what is a hate group according to the SPLC? Well, if you are a Christian who is opposed to same sex marriage and homosexual adoption, you are a hater. In 2012, a man who had been influenced by SPLC propaganda, entered the headquarters of the Family Research Council intending to murder its staff. Floyd Corkins shot and wounded a security guard but fortunately no one else was hurt. The following year, after pleading guilty, he was given a 25 year sentence.
Charlie Kirk was a regular target of the SPLC, and it is believed his assassin may also have been influenced by its propaganda.
Perhaps more important than even these two horrible examples, is that like the ADL, the SPLC has been used to smear conservatives not only in the mainstream media but to law enforcement and social policy makers. Their smears have been laundered through such sources as Wikipedia. This has led to censorship of organisations and individuals and even to their debanking. It is difficult to determine how much censorship, social ostracism and even violence directed at conservatives is due to either the SPLC or the ADL, but together they are significant actors in what might be called the censorship industrial complex.
It should be pointed out that the term conservative does not mean white conservative, blacks too are smeared, most notably Ben Carson, who is about as mild-mannered an individual as one could wish to meet. Black Separatists, especially the Nation Of Islam, are also smeared by the SPLC.
Kash Patel has done Americans a big favour by severing FBI connection with this bunch of grifting hatemongers. Now, perhaps someone in another branch of Government can look into its tax-exempt status.
