African Diaspora Delusions
If you’ve ever wondered what is a victim narrative, a few minutes on the African Diaspora News Channel will educate you. At one time, white supremacy in America meant dudes on horseback riding around at dead of night in the Deep South clad in white sheets to scare those poor Negroes, as blacks were then known.
In 1955, it meant the slaying of the 14 year old Emmett Till and the acquittal of his murderers, a case so outrageous that it is still paraded by activists in 2023. But today, white supremacy means...a white teacher patting a black girl on the shoulder instead of hugging her at her retirement party, or retirement something, like she did two white pupils. You heard that right. The offending video has gone viral; a twenty second or so clip, and the South rises again?
First it should be noted that for a male teacher to hug a pupil at any time can be a career ending hug, or even a freedom ending one. The next day, the next month, the next year, the next decade, that teacher could be accused of something far more sinister, and children never lie, right?
For the case in question though, there could be any number of reasons other than white supremacy for a teacher not to hug a particular child. Perhaps she’d had a special bond with the other two; perhaps the child in question had given her grief in the recent past; perhaps the teacher didn’t think or notice. Does this count as a micro-non-aggression? This sort of nonsense is really too stupid to argue about when there are real injustices in this world.
Alas, stupidity and the African Diaspora News Channel fit like hand in glove. The people who run this outfit are firm supporters of the reparations for slavery movement, an argument that is too absurd to entertain and easily debunked. However, in the very same video, another contributor claims that Western aid to Africa is bad, that it impoverishes the continent. You heard that right. They are far from the first people to make that argument; apparently aid creates dependency and is really an extension of colonialism. So reparations good, money for nothing bad, right?
The presenter also asks a question that has an embarrassingly honest answer. After the Second World War, foreign aid benefited Europe, so why doesn’t foreign aid benefit Africa? Because Europe is ruled by Europeans while Africa is now ruled by Africans.
One person who clearly believes this although he would never be so undiplomatic to phrase it so, is Winston Sterzel, and no, he is no white supremacist, at least his Chinese wife and his Chinese ex-wife don’t seem to think so. Sterzel moved from South Africa to China where he spent many years making a good living, and now has nothing good to say about the country. He has since relocated to the United States along with American fellow traveller Matthew Tye who spent a decade and more in China, and likewise has a Chinese wife.
In a recent video, Sterzel pointed out that South Africa is “going down the toilet”. Sadly, he doesn’t realise his adoptive country is going the same way for the same reason, overt corruption that nobody can do anything about, although there are signs that may not be quite true if people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz and other leading Republicans have anything to do with it, but whatever happens, you can be sure the African Diaspora News Channel will find white supremacy to be responsible for it.
